{"id":1051,"date":"2018-02-25T12:48:05","date_gmt":"2018-02-25T20:48:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mossor.org\/blog\/?p=1051"},"modified":"2020-08-17T20:39:33","modified_gmt":"2020-08-18T03:39:33","slug":"new-coat-of-paint","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mossor.org\/blog\/new-coat-of-paint\/","title":{"rendered":"New Coat of Paint!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mossor.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/PaintBrushes_med.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1052 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mossor.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/PaintBrushes_med-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mossor.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/PaintBrushes_med-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mossor.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/PaintBrushes_med-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/mossor.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/PaintBrushes_med.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, that was a year, wasn&#8217;t it?<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not going to make any excuses, but 2017 was quite a year on many fronts.\u00a0 Folks far more able to describe it clearly talked about how everything going on with our country and our politics and in the world made it nigh impossible for them to focus on, well, much of anything.\u00a0 And so it was for me.\u00a0 Updating here or writing or much of anything else besides just getting by got pushed to the background.\u00a0 I&#8217;m sure I&#8217;m not alone in this.<\/p>\n<p>But, it&#8217;s a new year and time to start looking forward and pulling myself out of the hole I&#8217;ve been living in for much of the last year (and occasionally wanting a blanket and a great deal of comfort), brushing myself off and getting moving forward again.<\/p>\n<p>I suspect the new year will be better, at least in some ways.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, there are changes for me as I&#8217;ve started a new job which is much closer to where I live.\u00a0 Alone, this frees up more than an hour a day of additional time.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t loathe climbing in to a car to drive 2-2.5 hours per day.\u00a0 You can only listen to so many podcasts and I have listened to many.<\/p>\n<p>I have found time to do some Making of stuff, and I&#8217;ll post at least the results of some of those.<\/p>\n<p>I updated the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mossor.org\">front page<\/a> of the site from something arguably artisanal (in the non-mechanized sense) and bespoke (in the made to order sense) while at the same time being of questionable quality and definitely showing it&#8217;s age to something that at least looks like it was made in the last few years.\u00a0 That gave me a chance to look in to some more modern libraries like Bootstrap, so that&#8217;s good.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So, that was a year, wasn&#8217;t it?
