It seems to me one guy tried to appeal to what’s best in us (hope) and one guy tried to appeal to what’s worst in us (fear, bigotry, anger, fear).
The results speak for themselves. Give us something to hope for instead of something to be fearful of.
Having said that, where was the McCain of the concession speech for the last year?
That guy I would have listened to. That guy one could imagine following.
I would like to believe that the guy making the concession speech was the real thing. The other one? Mr. Angry-Grumpy-Pants? I choose to believe he was a construct that was the result of poor choices and being out of touch with what people wanted and needed.
